Susan Aston has taught and coached actors in New York and Los Angeles for over twenty years. She is most known for her work with James Gandolfini for whom she coached Emmy-, Golden Globe-, SAG-, and Tony-award winning performances. For Mr. Gandolfini, Ms. Aston performed scene analysis and break-downs, participated in character development, and provided private and on-set coaching for all seasons of HBO's The Sopranos and HBO pilot, Criminal Justice (later titled The Night Of), in the films, The Drop, Enough Said, Violet and Daisy, The Amazing Burt Wonderstone, Not Fade Away, Cinema Verite, Where the Wild Things Are, Welcome to the Rileys, The Taking of Pelham 123, Kiddie Ride, All the King's Men, The Mexican, The Castle, Romance and Cigarettes and Lonely Hearts, and in the Broadway play, The God of Carnage.
Ms. Aston is part of the full-time faculty at The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University, teaching Advanced Scene Study, Basic Technique, and Audition Techniques.
She is a life-time member of The Actors Studio and has served there on The Audition Committee and as a Session Moderator.
